Anteater

Common name: anteater.

Scientific name: Myrmecophaga tridactyla

Habitat:
it lives in Mexico, Central America and South America, in forests and swampy areas.

Diet:
it eats termites or other insects like ants, etc.

Size:
The giant anteater, weighing up to 39 kg (86 lb), is the largest species of anteater. The pygmy anteater is the smallest species of anteater, ranging from 32 to 52 cm (13 to 20 in).

Danger:
it is in danger because its habitat is destroyed by timber companies, that use the wood of the trees to make furniture, paper, etc.

What can we do?:
we can stop the timber companies, with protest, or create more national parks and ecology groups like Greenpeace.
