Save the Pandas!

As you are looking at your teddy bears, you might see a cute, cuddly panda bear among them. However, you don't think about how these cute bears are being killed rapidly, and could soon become extinct. The Giant Panda population is being wiped out because of poachers, starvation, and loss of habitat.
It is of great importance to save the panda because in the years to come, it will greatly effect the ecosystem. Not only will this happen, but the image of the panda's face will be lost to future generations. To keep this from happening, we should act now. Three ways in which we can solve this problem are by making harsher laws against poachers, breeding pandas, and increasing the population of bamboo.
The simplest of these solutions is making harsher laws against pcoachers and other people who are involved in the killing of Giant Panda. Right now, people might risk a year in prison to get money from a panda's fur. However, if the laws become more strict, it will discourage people from killing pandas. Also, if one person is caught and given a long sentence in prison, it will discourage many poachers from continuing their evil deeds. The only drawback from this solution is that some poachers would continue killing pandas even with new laws. This is because many poachers are poor, and they need money to put food on their tables. This could prove a problem for people who wish to enforce laws concerning pandas. Although enforcing harsher laws is a great way to save pandas, there are many alternatives.
One of these is to breed pandas. We could do this by setting up breeding sites near panda habitats. Then we could capture some pandas to put in the breeding sites. After this, the pandas can be breeded. This would help the panda population rise at a controlled rate. This way, pandas may not be endangered after a few years. However, all good things bring bad things. Breeding is an unnatural way of increasing the panda population, and in a few years it might develop into a problem. Also, pandas may become too dependent on humans. If this happens, pandas from the breeding centers would have a difficult time adjusting to the hardships of the wild.
Other than breeding, there is another solution that deals with growing wildlife. This solution is to set up bamboo nurseries. These nurseries will grow bamboo, which will be loaded onto a truck after growing. The truck will then take the bamboo to the habitat of the panda, where it will be planted. This would provide food for pandas, which would elimixnate their primary reason for death. Not only that, but pandas would not have to roam around to look for food. However, the extra bamboo could effect the ecosystem as a whole. To prevent this from happening, the bamboo could be planted in small amounts over a long period of time. Therefore, the ecosystem would have some time to adapt to the change.
Finally, in my opinion, the most efficient and effective solution for helping the Giant Panda population is by growing bamboo in nurseries, and then planting them in the habitat of the Giant Panda. This solution is the most effective because the primary problem of the panda bear is its lack of food. Therefore, if the bamboo is brought to the pandas, this problem will be solved. In conclusion, always keep in mind that in order to see panda bears on toy shelves in the future, their are many things that you and I must do today.
