Swift Fox

Have you ever seen this animal? It is a orange and white animal. Its Latin name is Vulpes velox. You could find it in the great plains of North America. The foods it eats is rabbit, bird, fish, grass, berries, insects, and small animals. Its natural habitat is Canada. This animal is a mammal and is the size of a house cat.

This swift fox is now endangered in 90% of its historical habitat range. The reasons for disappearance of swift foxes in both and habitat destructions are thought to be the primary causes for its endangerment. That's how this animal is endangered.

Here are some interesting things about this animal. A female fox makes birth to he young in late winter or early spring. A new born weighs about 4 ounces [110 grams]. Pups drink their mothers milk for about five weeks. A fox may make a den underground in a cave among rocks.
