Cheetahs
Did you know that cheetahs can run 70 miles per hour? Cheetahs are felines, also known as cats. Cheetahs have dome-like heads, and black spots that blend into stripes on their tails. Cheetahs have yellowish creamy colored fur and dark, deep, black tear stripes. They have long legs that look like they were borrowed from a grey hound. Cheetahs live in open spaces in Africa and Asia. Cheetahs run fast and don’t climb well. Cheetahs eat small antelope and gazelle. Cheetahs live 6-7 years in the wild and 8-9 years in captivity. Cheetahs in the wild communicate by a kind of growling barking. Cheetahs that are trained purr. Cheetah cubs are born alive, gray, and blind for a week or two. The cheetah has four cubs at a time. Cheetahs maybe extinct outside Africa because African farmers make farms out of the cheetah’s homes. |
