Chimpanzees

Chimpanzees are one of the smartest animals. They are endangered because  their homes are being destroyed and farms are taking their place. They are  also killed for food.
They belong to the family of gorillas and monkeys.
They  are mammals.
Chimpanzees live in western central Africa, in warm rain forests  and mountain forests up to 9,000 feet.
Chimpanzees eat fruit, flowers,  plants, animals, and insects.
They are furry and have light flesh with a  ridge of bone on their head.
Chimps in zoos learn sign language.
Chimpanzees  are born alive. When the chimps are born they weigh 4 pounds and they hang on  their mom’s underside. Chimpanzees stay away from hunters.
They live to be 60  years old.
Dutch translation will be added soon.
