Did you know that chimpanzees normally like to hug together? They are primates in the monkey and ape family. Chimpanzees are furry, black with white skin. They weigh about 100 pounds. Their nose, hands, feet and ears are the color of light flesh. They clean their fur by using their hands and they swing from tree to tree and they walk and run on all four legs.
Chimpanzees live in western central Africa and other rainy forests.
Chimpanzees eat both plants, young monkeys and bush pigs. Lots of chimpanzees are endangered. They have been hunted and lost their homes.
Chimpanzees live in the wild. Some baby chimpanzees stay with their moms
until they are 8 years old..
