Did you know that chimpanzees are funny and they can be trained by people who like them a lot. Chimpanzees have a bear face. They are 5 feet tall with a white spot in to middle of their tummies. Chimpanzees carry their babies on their backs. They are black, but the nose, feet and ears are light flesh color. They are super-sized monkeys. Another way to say it is that they are great apes. Their are common chimps and there are pigmys. They can walk on two feet, they can walk on four feet, or can always climb. They swing a lot from tree to tree. They live in Gambe National Park and sometimes they live in western, central Africa. Some live in rain forests. Chimpanzees prey is young monkeys and bush pigs. They also eat insects and a lot of plants. Hunters are killing them. They can’t survive without man’s help. Some cheetahs are their enemies. Chimpanzees are their prey. Their homes are being destroyed for places for man to live and farm. The really bad thing about destroying the rain forests and killing chimpanzees is because then baby chimpanzees are not going to live and that is so sad. They might become extinct because chimpanzees can even live up to sixty years in the jungles with all that changes. WOW! This is more incredible. They can live up to 85 in the zoo.
