Cougars

The cougars have six names: catamount, painter, mountain lion, puma, and panther. They belong to the cat family. They have small heads and long necks.
Their bodies are low-slung with thick tails. Cougars are brown or gray. The male weighs 160 pounds. The female weighs 90 to 135 pounds. Cougars live in North and South America. They live in forest, brushland, grassland, and semideserts. Babies are called kittens. Then mother gives birth to them. They are born blind. She has two to four kittens at a time.
Cougars move their tails. Cougars purr and yowl to communicate. They also move their ears and call sounds like a human scream. Cougars stalk most of the time to move around. Sometimes they run fast for a short distance. They eat almost any animal but deer is their favorite. Cougars live 11 years or longer. Cougar are endangered because hunters used to kill them.
