Cougars

Did you know that a cougar can not roar it purrs? The last cougars may be killed this yea. There was a city in Peru built in a cougars body outline.
Cougars are mammals that belong in the cat family. They have a long neck and a small head. Their fur is shades of brown, gray, black and white. The back of their ears and the tip of their tale is black. The male weighs 160 pounds and the female weighs from 90 to 136 pounds. Cougars live in places such as the prairie, the semidesert, the grasslands, the brush lands, and lowland.
They also live in the forest and mountains as high as 14,800 feet above sea level. To get around they walk, trot, and run with heavy paws. Cougars hate swimming, but hey do it anyway. A cougar baby does not hatch from an egg, the mother has live babies. She has 2 to 4 babies in total. Cougars eat elk, deer, moose, mountain goats, coyotes, bear cubs, porcupines, rabbits, birds and mice. Once a scientist saw a cougar eat a whole meal of grasshoppers!
They live to age 11 and older. To communicate, they purr and yowl. To let another animal know how it feels, it twitches it’s ears and tail. They are endangered because the forest is getting cut down. Also, male cougars and bears hunt the kittens. In 1694 some people in Connecticut paid for killing cougars. That is why there are only 30 left. Cougars should have a better chance at life.
Dutch translation will be added soon.
