Gibbons

Did you know that gibbons are the acrobats of the Asian forests? They are related to apes and gibbons are mammals. They are gray, brown, black, cream color, but it depends somewhat on its species. The largest gibbon in the family is the siamang. The siamang is mostly black with a pink or gray pouch filled with air. The gibbon’s babies are long and slim. Gibbons swing and they walk on all four of their legs. Gibbons only live in Southeast Asia in the trees in the forest, but may live in Thailand, Indonesia, Java and Cambodia. Gibbons eat bugs and plants. Gibbon’s predators are tigers and leopards but they can’t chase them ninety feet up a tree. Gibbons are endangered because people are building in the forest and the forest is shrinking. All gibbons are endangered. They might disappear forever.
