Leopards

Did you know that leopards travel alone? The leopards have keen eyes and ears. Leopards are very careful hunters. They are part of the cat family.
It’s cousins are tigers, jaguars, and lions. Some leopards are yellowish with black spots and donut rings. Other groups have different spots. Some are all black. They are called panthers. The biggest is nine feet long. Their weight can be up to170 pounds. Leopards live in forests of Africa and Asia, grasslands, swampy areas, dry areas, and deserts. Did you know that leopards live 15,000 above sea level? In the zoo the leopard lives for 23 years. Some people cut down the leopards’ homes. They are shot and poisoned. They stalk their prey. The leopards eat wildebeest, birds, snakes, zebra, small antelope, snakes, baboon, sheep, and almost anything else. The babies open their eyes when they are 10 days old. They stay with their moms for 18 months. The spotted leopard roars but the snow leopard doesn’t. I would rather meet a snow leopard.
Dutch translation will be added soon.
