Orangutans
Orangutans are great apes. They are very shy and quiet. They are really smart. The male ape weighs up to 200 pounds. They get up to 46 to 55 to 60 inches tall. They live in Samutra, Borneo, and Southeast Asia. They eat insects, eggs, leaves and flowers. It takes five or six years to take an orangutan to be born. When the mother swings across the tree the baby hangs on to it’s mother back. Babies are eaten by wild pigs and pythons. Nothing eats large orangutans. They are endangered because people are trying to save the rainforest from getting destroyed. People are recking down their homes are getting cut down the trees and sometimes the trees fall righ on them. |
