Giant Pandas

Did you know that giant pandas are mammals? A mammal is a warm blooded animal. Giant pandas have white fur on their head. They have black fur on their legs and they have black fur around their eyes, too. The giant pandas have curved toes and toenails. Giant pandas live in bamboo forests and in the mountains of western China. Giant pandas are plant eaters and they eat bamboo. When the giant panda is born it is called a cub and when the giant panda is born it weighs four ounces. When they are born they hardly have any hair and the cub can’t see. Giant pandas’ enemies are dangerous mostly to the babies, but sometimes leopards and wild dogs hunt the giant pandas. Giant pandas are endangered because people hunt them and dangerous animals eat them. There are 700 to 1,000 giant pandas left in the world and 70 in zoos.
What people are already doing to help is they have set aside 12 large areas in China called giant panda reserves.
Dutch translation will be added soon.
