Blue Whales
| Blue whales are the biggest animals in the world. Blue whales are endangered because men hunt them. Blue whales live in the North Atlantic, North Pacific, and Antarctic. Blue whales eat krill and copepods. Blue whales are 75 to 85 feet long. Blue whales have two flippers. Flippers are long and thin. Blue whales communicate by echolocation. Blue whales are born from their mother. Baby blue whales are called calves. At birth calves are 20.5 to 24.5 feet (6.3 to 7.5 meters) long. Did you know that blue whale’s predators are orcas, sharks, and men? Did you know that blue whales live to be ten years old? |
