Fin whales have no teeth and trap food in their mouths using baleen plates. Fin whales can swim very fast. They have brownish skin and pure white undersides. Fin whales are medium sized whales. Fin whales grow up to be 8 feet long and normally weigh about 65 tons. Fin whales habitat is in the deep cold ocean water. Fin whales favorite food is herring, a kind of fish. The whales swim fast around the herring until they are in a bunch. Then they eat them. Calf whales are 22 feet long at birth. One baby is born every 20 years. They’re born at the equator in winter.
