Whales
A whale is a mammal. It has hair and live young. It can leap or breach out of the water. It is blue. It has lots of blubber or fat to keep it warm. It has very sharp teeth. The whale is 100 feet long. It is a very good swimmer. It can also float. It lives in the Pacific Ocean. It also lives in the Atlantic Ocean. It lives in the Indian Ocean too. It eats krill and shellfish. Eskimos are their predators. The whales are endangered. They are hunted a lot. Their teeth are used for cutting. Oil lamps are made from whale oil. You can use the teeth for hooks. There are only 1,000 blue whales left. Some whales live 50 years and some live 60 years. |
