Scientific Name :
Perameles eremiana
Habitat :
Sandridge deserts with Triodia tussocks in central Australia.
Diet :
Eats termites, ants and beetle lavae.
Size :
It is about 400mm but the tail is about 130mm of this.
Danger :
This animal has not been recorded since 1943 but Aborigines have reported seeing it in the 1960s.
It was hunted by miners for food.
Foxes and rabbits caused lots to die.
Their habitat was damaged by fires and farms.
