Common Name : Leadbeater's Possum

Scientific Name : Gymnobelideus leadbeateri

Habitat :
Lives in temperate Mountain Ash forests in southern Victoria.

Diet :
Eats invertebrates such as spiders and beetles and also the gum of Acacia trees.

Size :
Grows to about 350mm and the tail is 200mm of this.

Danger :

The woodchipping industry cuts down the trees this animal depends on for food and nesting hollows.
Owls catch and eat the possums.
