Common Name : Long-footed Potoroo

Scientific Name : Potorous longipes

Habitat :
Found in high rainfall areas of forest in Victoria and New South Wales.

Diet :
Eats underground fungus and sometimes invertebrates obtained by digging small holes in the ground.

Size :
It reaches a maximum of 700mm of which about 300mm is the tail.

Danger :

This type of potoroo was only discovered in 1978 but there are not very many of them left. Foxes are a problem and also forestry activities.
