Northern Bettong

Common Name : Northern Bettong

Scientific Name : Bettongia tropica

Habitat :
Found in north East Queensland in tropical forests and woodlands.

Diet :
Eats underground funghi and the underground part of Cockatoo Grass.

Size :
It reaches a maximum size of around 750 mm, the tail forming around 360 mm of this length. It weights up to 1.4kg.

Danger :

The Northern Bettong is endangered by introduced predators and the clearing of eucalyptus forests.
