Common Name : Northern Gastric-brooding Frog

Scientific Name : Rheobatrachus vitellinus

Habitat :
Lives in the shallow parts of otherwise swiftly flowing temperate rainforest streams in the vicinity of Eungella in mid-eastern Queensland.

Diet :
Arthropods

Size :
Females grow to 80mm and males to 55mm.

Danger :

Scientists have been trying to find out why this species seems to have disappeared since 1985 but have not reached any conclusions.
