Common Name : Gould's Petrel

Scientific Name : Pterodroma leucoptera leucoptera

Habitat :
It lives in oceanic waters of the continental shelf and nests only in the rainforests of Cabbage Tree Island near Newcastle, NSW.

Diet :
Eats cephalopods and occasionally small fishes.

Size :
It reaches about 300mm and the wingspan is 700mm.

Danger :

Pollution and introduced animals could be a danger because this bird breeds in only place. Cabbage Tree Island has been declared a Nature Reserve and visits by humans are strictly controlled.
