The Jaguarundi

| The jaguarundi is an endangered animal that lives in Arizona. It has a coat of silky red or gray fur. It is from the cat family. An interesting fact about the jaguarundi is that it is only 26 inches long. In Mexico it is called the "otter cat" because it is a very good swimmer. It eats birds, rodents, rabbits, frogs and fish. It lives in forests and grassy plains. Mothers have 2 to 4 babies at a time and they are born with spots. The jaguarundi is endangered because poachers capture it and sell its fur for money. | Dutch translation follows |
