Mountain Lion
![]() |
We are learning about the North American Mountain Lion, also known
as the Puma, or Cougar. We are doing this for an Internet Project. Mountain Lions need to
hide behind rocks, bushes, or trees while they hunt. Mountain Lions have great eyesight.
Pumas can jump as high as two stories. Mountain Lions also have great eyesight. They like
to sleep in trees. Cougars hide their kittens while they hunt. We need to protect Mountain Lions because they are almost extinct. Sometimes Mountain Lions accidentally attack a human because the person went into the Lion's hunting area. There are very few Mountain Lions left in California,Arizona, Utah, and Florida. Cougars keep other animals from becoming too many. Too many deer and rabbits would eat all of our gardens. These animals also have diseases. Sources Book: Will We Miss Them? Endangered Species, |
