Weekly Reader tells of the Indiana Bat's
plight...
(Weekly Reader edition 3, Dec. 11, '98)
Read about the Indiana Bat, an endangered bat, living in Pennsylvania. There were plans for a new highway to be built there, but the danger to the habitat of the Indiana Bat has stopped the building of the highway. There are trees that were going to be cut down that are believed to be the bats' homes. If the trees are cut down then the bats do not have their homes and might die.
