Peregrine Falcon
Falco Peregrinus
The Peregrine Falcon can grow to be 20 inches in length. It is dark blue or bluish gray and has white and red under parts. Its under parts also have black and brown stripes.
The Falcons habitat is mainly tall cliffs and they are also near lakes and rivers but the have adapted to the roofs of sky scrapers and tall buildings.
It mostly eats small birds but it prefers pigeons.
They usually have 2-4 cream colored eggs, spotted with reddish
brown, that are placed on high cliffs or buildings or abandoned
bird's nest.
The Peregrine Falcon was reintroduced to Missouri by Conservation Agents.
They relocated them to the tall sky scrapers of Kansas City
and Springfield Mo.
The Peregrine falcon helps keep small birds from over
populating.
