The Wood Bison

The Wood Bison

My research is on the wood bison. The scientific name is the bison bison.

The family of this animal belongs to land mammals. The status of this animal is threatened. The report is about information on the appearance, habitat, food, interesting facts, and the threats of the wood bison.

Someone should read about the report because reports are good to find more information. A large bison head is a triangular head. The bison has large shoulders and a massive hump. It is short and it is black and some are females. Horns are straight. The tongue is slate blue. The bison has short legs. The legs end with rounded hooves. It also has a chocolate brown mane. The bison are found on the prairies, parkland, and open woodland. The bison grazed on prairie herbs and grasses. In the winter they ate mosses and lichens. The bison were threatened by the wolf, the coyote, the mountain lion, and the grizzly bear. The bison were 40-60 million years in North America. Indians made the bison stampede off cliffs and trapped in canyons. Wood bison are bigger and darker then their cousins the plains bison. The Indians hunted the bison.
