The polar bear became  vulnerable in 1991. In this report there is food, appearance, habitat, threats and interesting facts about the polar bear. The polar bear is a land mammal.
The polar bear is one of the largest animals in the world. The polar bear has many different body parts. It has very small ears, a long body, long neck, narrow head, black tongue, and black skin under its fur which isn't completely white its more a beige. It almost weighs 1400 pounds. The polar bear has huge 12 inch paws. They also have special guard hair. The polar bear lives in cold places. It lives in the Arctic, North Pole and Norway. Polar bears live in Northern Canada from Labrador to the Alaska border. In the Arctic polar bears walk on the tundra. What it lives on is coastal pack ice and land fast ice. Polar bears are very good swimmers. The females make dens so when babies are born they will be born in the den.
The polar bear eats a lot of animals that swim. These include all sorts of seals like ringed seals and hooded seals. It also eats a lot of different parts of seals like seal blubber and seal fat. Polar bears are carnivores. It also likes fish it can catch with its paws. When the polar bear is  trying to catch a seal it tries to look like snow so the seal doesn't see it coming.
Polar bears are killed mostly by hunters. What hunters do with them is kill them, take their fur, and take them away from their home. This makes it hard to live. Hidden beneath the snow there is man made poison that hunters hide under the snow to kill the polar bears. Also there are oil spills and toxic chemicals. Other walruses and wolves eat polar bears sometimes.
The polar bear is a very interesting animal. There are approximately 1500 bears living in the world. Male polar bears are bigger then female polar bears because males are always bigger then females. The polar bear became vulnerable in 1991 which was a long time ago. There is thick layer of blubber in its skin. The polar bear has pads on its feet to help it from slipping. They can swim 60 miles without stopping.
