Fowler's toad is brownish yellow so it is blended into the earth. This is called camouflaging. The precise height of this toad is 2.5 inches (on all four legs). Fowler's toad have a light stripe down the middle saying "go away!"
Fowler's toad live in poorly vegetated area. They can also be found from Lake Eire to New England and also tropical places. Mostly found in marshes and weedy cool lakes. If you are lucky you might find them hunting in a small park.
You would find a Fowler's toad foraging along beaches looking for a morsel to munch on. Mainly you would find them eating beetles or ants.
Fowler's toad has many different man and natural threats. When breeding the Fowler's toad might get disturbed by humans and many other predators. A list of the Fowler's toad predators are: garter snakes, ducks, skunks and raccoons. The amount of garbage we do not properly put in the garbage can affect the amount of Fowler's toads and their babies.
A Fowler's toads only protection is its toxic skin. The female needs the protection because some people love toads so they would touch them. They puff up and the poison goes to the skin. If a hungry predator came along the toad freezes and camouflages and the predator walks right past it.
