Mexican Bobcat

The Mexican Bobcat is an endangered animal in many country’s like Africa, Asia, and Australia. The Mexican Bobcat is wanted by farmers for their fur.

The Mexican Bobcat likes to be alone except during breading seasons . They find a mate and then separate again.

The Mexican Bobcat has long pointy ears and long side beards. They weigh 15 to 30 lb and stand 20 to 24 inches at the shoulder. The color of the Mexican Bobcat is gray, black, and white. It has short slender legs and thickly paws .

Buff colored ones can be found in deserts areas ,and darker ones can be found in forest areas. This hides them from human view .

The female Mexican Bobcat has a gestation period for 65 days . The kittens are generally born in secluded dens. The kittens are entirely dependent on their mother for protection. The kittens start to go off on their own when they are about 6 to 9 months old.

The Mexican Bobcat protection is its teeth. Its teeth are for ripping apart its prey and protecting itself from people trying to kill it. The hair on the tips of their ears are like an antannae and help them hear better, if these hairs were cut off the Bobcats hearing would go bad.

The Mexican Bobcats life span in the wild is 12 years. Its adaptation is an expert climbers, a swimmer and a excellent hunter. They are not protected by any " fur bearer" laws so their fur is in demand. In 1970, one fur pelt of a Bobcat would get $145.00.
